The White Tower

Housed in the penthouse of Blackpool’s Casino building, The White Tower offers sweeping views across the Irish sea and the town’s famous promenade. Accessed via a red carpet and its own private lift, it has a glamorous, retro feel: with plush seating, floor-to-ceiling windows, a sunken bar, and a grand piano at its centre.

Diners on the first and last Saturday of the month can enjoy live performances from The White Tower’s resident pianist, whilst the rest of the time normal restaurant service prevails. Serving a carefully-designed menu featuring locally-sourced produce, guests will find house favourites including the White Tower prawn cocktail and Lancashire cheese plate, alongside the likes of fillet steak stroganoff, beef fillet and feather blade steak.

Vegetarians can chow down on plates of aubergine tempura, roasted cauliflower with harissa, smoked cheese gnocchi, and filo parcels with spinach, mature cheese and sundried tomatoes. As for sides, think honey roast roots and Parmesan roast new potatoes, thick cut chips, onion rings, and Lancashire cauliflower cheese. It’s all hearty fare here.

As well as its popular A la Carte menu, The White Tower also serves a popular Sunday lunch with two courses under £25 or three under £30. Here, fans of the traditional British favourite can indulge in roast sirloin of beef, chicken breast or slow-roasted lamb shank, all served with a homemade Yorkshire pudding and complimentary gravy or sauce. As for pudding, if you’re not feeling the cheese plate then opt for the chocolate orange tart, or the raspberry shortbread creme brulée.

With its panoramic views of the sea, a private outdoor terrace and real open fire, The White Tower is a favourite for special occasions and celebrations – offering diners in Blackpool a taste of glamour in a central location a short stroll from the town’s famous Pleasure Beach. If you’re looking for somewhere to treat yourself, this is it.
