Housed in a grand neo-classical building surrounded by the lush greenery of a landscaped park, Weston Park Museum has an impressive and diverse showcase of permanent displays. From pyramids and pharaohs to mummies and hieroglyphics, learn all about one of history’s most fascinating civilisations in the brand-new ‘Ancient Egypt’ gallery. Even the littlest historians will enjoy dressing up and taking part in the interactive ‘build a pyramid’ activity.
Stop by the museum’s natural history gallery and find out more about evolution, habitats and the world we live in. A permanent display, visitors to ‘What on Earth!’ will be able to see birds and insects in their natural environment and find out more about the plight of endangered species.
The museum also offers a series of permanent displays offering a lively and informative perceptive on Sheffield – its people, industries and the city’s transformation through the ages. Visitors will be able to dig deep into 50,000 years of Sheffield’s history as well as viewing artefacts, photographs and artwork from more recent times.
The Weston Park shop also stocks a range of original gifts and souvenirs with a Sheffield twist, while its café (offering fabulous coffee and locally sourced delights) and park provide a relaxing space in which to relax.
