Blackpool’s number one Indian restaurant, Twisted Indian Street Food packs a flavour punch and isn’t afraid to mix the traditional with the modern. With a menu full of influences that swing from Desi to global, according to its owners ‘being normal is boring.’ Well, who are we to disagree?

Crowned Street Food Restaurant of the Year at the English Curry Awards 2022 and Best Indian in Blackpool 2023, the menu aims to show off the variety of flavours in Indian cooking. Here, you’ll find the evolution of classic dishes sitting alongside the traditional, with plenty of creative flair in the mix.

All dishes are cooked to order using locally-sourced fresh ingredients, with a good range of curries, biryanis, and some hearty mixed grills on offer. Beyond this, you’ll find the Twisted Specials: ranging from a spicy chicken burger served on a brioche bun with green chutney, a fried egg and homemade chilli chips, to a house butter chicken, mixed karahi masala, and lamb on the bone with roasted potatoes.

If you’re not a meat eater, choices include the popular okra ‘ladies fingers’, a comforting tarka daal, and chickpea and potato curry. As for desserts, diners will find brownies made locally by Marnie in Cleveleys, with flavours including chilli chocolate, jammy dodger, Terry’s Chocolate Orange or lemon and white chocolate.

A stone’s throw from North Pier, this hidden gem’s quirky decor features vibrant pink neon lights and multicoloured umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, adding to the lively atmosphere. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm, Twisted Indian Street Food is perfect for anyone seeking an exciting, flavour-packed meal in the heart of Blackpool.
