The Oracle

Liverpool loves a mystery bar, whether it’s literally hidden so you have to just know it’s there to find it, or a place with a certain amount of mystique. The Oracle is a bit of both.

With the tagline of ‘Artifice and Cocktails’, the Oracle is anything but an ordinary bar. Located on Seel Street which, admittedly is the city’s nightlife epicentre, but you won’t find queues of shivering students raring to sing along to ‘Mr Brightside’. The Oracle is a classy affair, from the lantern-lit doorway to the stylish décor of a speakeasy to the mind-boggling choice of cocktails.

In fact, the cocktail menu is so long, the drinks are divided up into sections like ‘strong’ and ‘refreshing’ so everyone can find something to their taste. Of course, the classics are done to perfection, but perhaps you’ll fancy trying something new?

There is a small entrance fee but for very good reason. The Oracle is not just a bar – it’s a place to encounter magic from worlds class magicians! Once you settle in and order a delicious drink, your table will be visited by a magician at least once. We won’t spoil the experience with too many details but if you’re looking for a Victorian séance-like atmosphere where either your eyes deceive because you’ve had one too many ‘Elixirs of Youth’ or the magic you’re seeing is, well, real, you’ve come to the right place.
