The Narrow Boat

The Narrow Boat

Skipton canal basin has an unexpected charm. It isn’t quite Venice, but it’s as good as you will find in the North of England with the added bonus of distinctive Yorkshire charm. Situated in prime position to enjoy this waterway is The Narrow Boat. A pub that prides itself on having a fine selection of cask ales, this cosy and snug feeling tavern is a perfect place to grab a few pints and some home cooked comfort food after a long day walking.

Behind the bar they consistently stock Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, Ilkley Mary Jane and Orkell’s Bitter. The rest of the beer selection is constantly changing. The Narrow Boat has access to numerous regional and national small scale breweries and takes pride in only serving beers, ales and ciders they deem to be exceptional. Alongside IPA’s stouts and continental offerings, you can find wheat beers, saisons, fruit beers and lagers. Aside from beer, they also offer a strong list of boutique gins as well as a wide selection of whiskies and wines.

The food is freshly prepared, locally sourced and seasonal pub grub at it’s finest. The Narrow Boat’s small team of kitchen staff, strive to make dishes that give you a real flavour of the area. Everything is cooked to order and overseen by head chef Neil, who takes pride in crafting menus that celebrate home cooked comfort food. You can expect the comfort of familiar dishes that have been elevated to make the most use of the bountiful produce the area has to offer.

Whether you’re calling in for a quality pint or hungry for some simple food done well, The Narrow Boat has both, with a beautiful location to accompany your experience.
