As one of the more secretive bars in Leeds, The Domino is an underground, speakeasy-style Jazz club. It may strike you as odd to see two bouncers stood outside a barbers shop in the Grand Arcade. However, once you go through the shop’s back door, you will find yourself in a tastefully lit room with some of Leeds’ best jazz acts providing the soundtrack. Leeds has a thriving live Jazz scene, and thanks to the music college, many youthful and innovative voices develop within that scene. The Domino makes the most of this in their programming.

Expect genres ranging from 1920’s style trad to modern hip-hop-influenced ensembles, alongside blues, funk and soul. Rest assured, the quality of the musicians performing is always high regardless of genre. But live music isn’t the only attraction at The Domino. It also serves a range of inventive cocktails which are perfect to sip whilst watching the acts.

You can expect live music whenever they’re open, late into the night, with the perfect ambience for those lazy mid-week evenings or for something a tad wilder at the weekends. It’s packed with cosy booths with table service a welcome option, or you can sit at the bar and soak up the atmosphere like a barfly from those classic mid-20th century pulp fiction novels.

If you’re looking for the very best live music, as well as high-quality drinks in a welcoming unintimidating atmosphere, The Domino is the ideal place for music-lovers, drinks-lovers and for anyone looking for a memorable evening out in the city of Leeds.
