The Cafe at the Museum
Polly Checkland HardingManchester Museum’s cafe, run by the people behind award-winning cafe Teacup Kitchen, is housed in bustling, friendly surrounds, with an entrance direct to Oxford Road as well as inside the museum itself. There are tightly-packed small tables, as well as bar seating along the front window, with a canteen-style counter filled with fresh salads in front of the separate kitchen.
The cafe very much has a family feel, and is often noisy with young visitors to the museum; the chalk boards featuring menu options are brightly decorated, with posters of animal species decorating the walls. The menu features a good selection of filling, well-chosen mains, as well as meals for kids and Teacup’s trademark towering home-baked cakes, the finest loose leaf teas and breakfast.
