With five showrooms spread over three floors and over one hundred dealers from all over the country, The Antiques Centre in York stocks a hugely diverse range of antiques and vintage, covering many periods from Ancient Rome to Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco all the way up to modern-day.

It’s exactly what you’d expect from a  city so rich in history. As you walk through the multiple floors of The Antiques Centre you’re bound to find something to perfect for that room in your house or to make an extra special gift.

Silver and silver-plated tea services, trays, spoons and cigarette cards are well represented, going back to the 19th century. Going back in time, you can find authentic and replica Roman, Viking and Medieval jewellery and arrowheads. Arms and armour include beautiful cavalry sabres and daggers from the 18th to 20th centuries, as well as antique pistols for the highwayman who has everything. Go up to the Second World War with militaria including medals, trench periscopes and kit accessories.

Then there are vintage teddy bears, matchbox cars and Hornby trains, plus all the collectable glass, pottery and Toby Jugs you could ask for. Whether you’re looking for a pistol with which to hold up a stagecoach, a miniature ceramic owl, a jug in the shape of Winston Churchill, or a charming tin-plate steam engine, the Antiques Centre in York has got you covered.

Molly’s Tea Rooms on the first floor serve up a delicious range of teas and scones

The staff are subject matter experts who can be relied on to put a fair price on any item, and should you have something you’re looking to sell, they’ll gladly give it a professional once-over.

If you need a sit down after all that, Molly’s Tea Rooms on the first floor serve up a delicious range of teas and scones, plus paninis and hot sandwiches, followed up by a range of vintage ice creams, from knickerbocker glories to banana splits.
