This location is now open as No.1 Canal Street

The award-winning Taurus is a village stalwart with its own theatre programme and a reputation for being the friendliest and most welcoming venue along Canal Street. Owners Iain Scott and Mike ‘Polly’ Pollard opened Taurus in 2001 and since then have worked hard to create a bar and restaurant that stays on the right side of Canal Street’s party-loving ways; its drinks list and unpretentious food add up to the sort of good natured riot that will leave you gently hungover rather than feeling like you’ve spent the night in the slammer.
