Stockport Plaza Cinema
Susie StubbsA beautiful Art Deco cinema dating back to 1932, the Plaza underwent a multi-million pound restoration at the turn of the millennium. Pride of place goes to its original Compton Theatre Organ (a manual pipe organ), whose sunburst glass panels are not only an Art Deco wonder but a genuine joy to behold. The cinema runs a screening programme that includes classic film and festivals, with a “cafe lounge” and regular events adding to the cinematic mix.
Opening times vary depending on shows/screenings.
