Staybridge Suites Manchester
Ian Jones, Food and Drink EditorOfficially part of the Crowne Plaza hotel, the Staybridge Suites are a decidedly more upscale offering, designed for those looking for a substantial stay in the city. It’s based on Oxford Road, not far from the university buildings, and just a short walk into the very centre of town, with plenty of high-quality restaurants and bars nearby.
The rooms are top class, the service is great and the location is perfect
If you’re here in Manchester on a business trip or tourist-style stay, this is the ideal option for someone who wants to be near the action, but not right in the middle of the action. In other words, you’ll be able to get a good night’s sleep without being woken up by Manchester’s 24 hour party people, without having to travel in to the city from the back of beyond.
The rooms are fantastic – plenty of space, with a high quality bathroom and a full kitchen. No need to dine out in restaurants every night – though you should, the city has plenty of excellent options for all tastes and budgets – you can cook a full meal in the comfort of your own room.
Even better, there’s a well-stocked shared space with plenty of comfy seating and TVs so you can catch up with your fellow guests, or kick back and watch a football game with people if you so wish. The views are great, although my room was on the 18th floor, so your mileage may vary. You’ll even get a great night’s sleep, with a wonderfully comfy bed, blackout curtains and ultimate peace and quiet.
The staff are the secret ingredient, wonderfully charming and eager to help, with whatever you might need during your stay. It’s hard to find fault with the Staybridge Suites. The rooms are top class, the service is great and the location is perfect.
