Shankly Hotel

Glam and luxurious, the Shankly Hotel is one of the top places to stay in the city. As the name suggests, it’s a tribute to the life and career of one of Liverpool FC’s managers, Bill Shankly, with the history of his life and work tastefully woven into the décor of the hotel. You wouldn’t necessarily need to know this to enjoy your stay though – for football fans this is a treat, for those less interested the hotel offers style and comfort.

Inspired by Bill Shankly’s words “Aim for the sky and you’ll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you’ll stay on the floor.”, the hotel has aimed for the sky, offering a truly grand experience whether it’s a one-night business trip, a couple’s gateway or a 24-person hen party.

Choose one of the themed Party Rooms with names such as ‘Garden of Eden’, ‘FOMO’ or ‘Sin’ and it’s pretty much guaranteed that the room itself will be a high point of your stay in the city.  The regular rooms are warm and comfortable, with gentle colours and leather sofas. Each room is equipped with a double whirlpool Jacuzzi bath, 50 inch plasma TV, free wi-fi and air conditioning. Needless to say, the beds are pretty cloud-like too.

There’s a rooftop terrace if you want to see Liverpool from above (but not too high) and The Bastion Bar and Restaurant offers a high class dining experience with a seasonal menu, alongside treats like bottomless brunch, afternoon tea and even a cocktail masterclass.

The location is nice and central, close to William Brown Street and a couple of the city’s most important galleries and museums. It’s a few of minutes’ walk away from the heart of Liverpool’s nightlife, so you can have a good night’s sleep and still be close to everything you need.

Where else will you find a hotel where luxury meets fun in such style?
