Since its opening back in 1990, SEA LIFE Blackpool has been a firm favourite with tourists far and wide.

This is one of the most popular SEA LIFE sites, welcoming thousands of visitors each and every year. What started as a showcase of marine creatures from the Irish Sea has now snowballed into a full-scale ocean adventure that includes exotic species from all over the world.

This family-friendly aquarium offers awe and wonder for all ages, as well as some great facts and stats for those who want to brush up on their animal knowledge.

During your visit, you can get to know over 2,500 amazing aquatic creatures, each with their own unique characteristics. Some of the most popular residents include jellyfish, rays, clownfish, sharks and piranhas.

Begin your journey through the ocean in SEA LIFE’s rock pools, which are home to fish, molluscs, and crustaceans. Can you spot any sea urchins lurking in the shadows?

You’ll then wind your way around more remarkable sea zones, including Stingray Adventure, Kingdom of the Seahorse and Submarine Explorer, which gives you a chance to spot Puffer Fish, Eels and Tangs.

No visit to SEA LIFE Blackpool would be complete without a trip through the impressive ocean tunnel; an immersive experience that gives you the chance to see what life is like under the sea. Come face to face with fearsome sharks like Black Tips, White Tips, Shovel Noses and Nurse Sharks, as well as green sea turtles.

It usually takes around two and a half hours to work your way around everything, so make sure you give yourself enough time to admire these stunning species. Beyond the sea creatures, there are a ton of fun activities for kids to enjoy, including quizzes, talks and special events.

The venue is nestled among a cluster of other family attractions, from Blackpool Tower to The Dungeons. Head to our Blackpool Attractions guide to pick from the best of the bunch.
