Root House Plants

It’s safe to say, Root Houseplants is the plant shop in Liverpool, or perhaps in all of Merseyside. Everyone knows it, everyone loves it and even if you’re not particularly green-fingered, you will admit that being in a room surrounded by lush leaves from every direction does wonders for the soul. Those slightly wilted, sad plants you see in the supermarket flower section? There’s absolutely none of that here – every single specimen is shiny and well-cared for, so that it can thrive in your home too.

Root started out as an online shop and made regular market appearances until they moved into their first physical shop. Since then they’ve moved into their current home in the Bluecoat, to the right of the entrance courtyard. Squeezed into the space are endless plants in pots on shelves, hanging from the ceiling and sitting on the floor. In the midst of this miniature jungle you’ll find a smiling member of staff, ready to offer assistance and truly impressive wealth of knowledge on how to choose and care for your plants. You can also find care guides on the website and popping in with questions is never a problem – you’ll be a regular in no time, because it’s pretty much impossible to leave the place without a new leafy friend.

Root also provide plants for offices and local businesses. Their client list includes some of the best food and drink spots in the city: Petit Café du Coin, Press Bros Coffee and Hardware Coffee + Kitchen amongst others.
