Roker Beach
Alexander IlesRoker Beach is a part of Sunderland’s beautiful coastline which provides one of the best locations to relax and play next to the city. The coastline has been a popular site for families for hundreds of years with entertainment provided from building sandcastles through to exploring rock pools and fresh sea air walks. Next to the beach you can get refreshments from either pier point – where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from or from the Roker Hotel which is home to Let There Be Crumbs, Antico and Poetic Licence, providing a great range of food and drink for people to enjoy. During the autumn and winter, the beach is illuminated by light displays and shows for all locals and visitors to enjoy. The marine activities centre also offers the water loving individual a chance to surf, row, kayak and sail with the adventure Sunderland team whose centre is on Roker Beach.
