The
Radisson Blu Hotel Leeds City Centre

Set in a cautiously restored Grade II listed building, once serving as the main office of the Leeds Permanent Building Society, is the Radisson Blu Hotel. The restoration paid close attention to preserving its original art deco style. My favourite!

This beautiful building is located in The Light shopping and entertainment complex in Leeds. This location provides easy access to bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Spend a day exploring, you are close by the First Direct Arena and the Leeds Grand Theatre and Opera House if that is your kind of thing. If not, stick to the bars and shops.

In keeping with the Radisson brand, all of the hotel’s 149 guestrooms are designed with style and minimalism in mind. Keeping the tones in the room neutral and the items purposeful,  your room will feel spacious and yet relaxing. There are several types of rooms available to choose from. There are the standard, superior, business class and junior suites, all contain coffee and tea facilities, flat screen TVs and quality toiletries.

Throughout the hotel, you can see the influence of art deco design blended with modern contemporary style. This does not however include the fitness suite. If you do like to continue your workouts while you travel (strange), then you might be happy to know that the hotel also offers a discounted pass to its guest for the nearby Nuffield Health Leeds Fitness Gym for you dedicated gym rats (not an insult, a genuine term).

Before you head out and explore the city, be sure to check out the Firelake Grill House and Cocktail bar. The onsite restaurant serves a delicious breakfast buffet to start your day, as well as lunch and dinner. The open style kitchen and extended marble topped bar provide a welcoming atmosphere for all occasions. Sit down and enjoy grilled dishes and unique starters or perch at the bar itself and enjoy a handcrafted cocktail.
