Quebecs Hotel
Demi Sheridan, Editorial Assistant
Quebecs Hotel is a 19th century stately hotel for those who like the finer things in life, boasting chandeliers, ornate stained glass windows and ‘soaking tubs’ (otherwise known as ‘posh baths’) A cheap B&B it ain’t. The Grade II listed 4 star luxury hotel is in one of the most distinctive terracotta brickwork buildings in the centre of Leeds on Quebec Street. In 2004, Quebecs was recognised as one of the city’s most striking buildings. And it is clear why.
Housing just 44 guest rooms, Quebecs evokes exclusivity and personalised service. Being that no two rooms are the same, you can choose from different types of decadence. If you are looking for a classic, exceptionally comfortable guest experience, this is where to find it. With a deep focus on comfort you are guaranteed a good night’s rest. Duck feather pillows, Egyptian cotton bed linen and down duvets, this is vintage on another level. One room even has a spiral staircase of its own, bringing you right into the living area.
The Gallery, located inside the hotel looking over the grand oak staircase, is dedicated to afternoon tea. Whilst sipping, be sure to look around you as this area of the hotel is home to the five stained glass windows showcasing the coat of arms of Yorkshire towns. You don’t see that everyday. If you need more than tea in the morning, head up to The Conservatory, positioned on the fourth floor. Full English and continental breakfast served daily. The surrounding glass windows pull in lots of natural light, and provide unique views of Leeds rooftops.
