Porta Tapas Altrincham

You’ll find Porta Tapas Altrincham at the beating heart of Altrincham, just yards from the legendary Altrincham Market, partway down Greenwood Street. It’s a wonderfully relaxed space with plenty of casual tables and bar stools that help create a modern, vibrant European-style atmosphere.

It’s the kind of place where you can simply drop in for a quick bite to eat, a few glasses of wine, or while away a good few hours working your way through the menu with friends. It’s a tapas bar inspired by the very best found in Barcelona and Madrid, with a proudly Iberian menu offering all the Spanish small plates classics and the occasional surprising gem you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

The staff are known for being among the very friendliest in town, impressively knowledgable and keen to make every guest’s experience the very best it can be.

The list of small plates is lengthy, each one promising an explosion of flavour that transports you to those sunkissed Spanish streets. You can choose from everything from classics like potato and onion tortillas, patatas bravas, blue cheese with caramelised walnuts, sultanas and honey and buffalo mozzarella with tomato and basil, to more substantial dishes such as Presa Iberica (seared pork with mojo Verde), slow roast ox cheek with pickled walnuts, fennel seed and chilli and king prawns a la plancha. And if that doesn’t get your mouthwatering, nothing will.

If the sun is shining, there’s a delightful outside space to drink and dine, but the atmosphere inside can more than make up for any grey skies outside. Porta Tapas Bar is one of Altrincham’s true hidden gems, adored by all the locals and the main focal point for many a visitor. You won’t rest until you’ve ticked off everything on the menu.
