Included in the Michelin Guide, NORD is something of a newcomer on Liverpool‘s restaurant scene. It describes itself as celebrating Northern hospitality, and with the Executive Chef Daniel Heffy being a Scouser, there’s no doubt that this is indeed the case in practice.

NORD, as the name suggests, is inspired by Heffy’s time in Scandinavia so the menu emphasises high quality, locally-sourced ingredients (for example, all fish and seafood comes from Birkenhead fishmonger, Wards Fish). Heffy’s previously been involved in setting up The Art School Restaurant with Paul Askew, and owned the Buyers Club.

The restaurant interior is spacious and modern with a 1960s twist – think warm colour scheme and circular lights with trendy terazzo floors.

Like any high-end restaurant, NORD changes its menu regularly and is a mix of flavours and influences, from a traditional Sunday lunch (but really good) to fresh pastas, curries and unexpected dessert combinations.

It’s located in the Business District, just a few minutes away from the city centre. It’s a nice and quiet setting for what could be a life-changing taste experience. In short, you won’t forget a visit to NORD in a hurry.
