Malmaison Manchester Piccadilly is a boutique hotel for people looking for something just a little bit different. Once a 19th century warehouse, the hotel is divided up into 167 eclectic rooms to suit any budget. It combines old-world charm with contemporary elegance, with its colourful decor, exposed brickwork, and luxurious furnishings.

Built in 1994 and part of a chain of hotels that started in Leith, Edinburgh, and then Glasgow a month later, Malmaison Manchester is housed in a Grade 1 listed Edwardian building that dates back to 1900.

In terms of the rooms, well, the ‘cosy’ rooms are just that, pretty small but nicely decorated, and once you start going up the price ladder, the experience gets more interesting, peaking with the ‘super suites’. All rooms have delightful attention to detail, some furnished in bold and characterful style, and others leaning into a cosier and traditional vibe.

Beyond the rooms, there’s a spa which is the perfect spot to unwind and refresh, and a gym if you’re feeling energetic. And there’s delicious food at the hotel’s brasserie and bar, known for its locally sourced ingredients. Whether you’re indulging in dinner, sipping cocktails at the candle-lit bar, or enjoying a lazy weekend brunch, every meal feels like a special occasion.

And of course, what makes Malmaison Manchester even more desirable is its central location in Manchester Piccadilly. Just steps away from the lively Northern Quarter, the hotel is the place to go if you want to see Manchester’s rich cultural scene, but stay quiet and peaceful when you’re in bed!

Malmaison is a boutique hotel experience with a healthy dollop of the theatrical. And with hotels all across the country, there’s bound to be a Malmaison hotel near you, wherever you are.
