LEGOLAND Discovery Centre

The ultimate indoor playground! LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester is an immersive indoor attraction in the UK, fun for all but specifically aimed at families with children aged 3 to 12 years.

Located within the Trafford Centre, LEGOLAND features all sorts of LEGO-themed activities. These include the impressive Miniland – a scaled-down model of local landmarks which contains teensy weensy, detailed models of local landmarks built entirely from thousands of LEGO bricks. Here, iconic sites from Manchester’s skyline and other famous UK buildings can be enjoyed by both kids and adults.

Next, sit back and relax in the LEGO 4D Cinema which offers a special film experience that goes beyond the screen, immersing viewers in LEGO-themed films with sensory effects like wind, rain, and snow!

For those looking for an adventure, the Kingdom Quest Ride sends visitors on a mission to rescue a LEGO princess, or you might want to take to the skies on the awesome Merlin’s Apprentice ride.

Test and build in LEGO City: Builder’s Area, a dedicated space filled with thousands of LEGO pieces and themed tables for children to simply go wild and build, build, build… LEGO Heaven!

And there’s more. Inspired by the popular Ninjago series, the Ninjago Training Camp is the place to go to sharpen your skills in agility and reflex and become a LEGO ‘ninja’. Other exciting activities include the Great LEGO VR Race, which is not included in the price of the admission ticket but is SO much fun!

For younger children, the Duplo Farm provides a safe and colourful soft play area with larger, easy-to-handle bricks.

As well as the day-to-day activities, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre offers structured workshops where children can learn engineering basics, coding, and robotics through building and programming LEGO creations. Led by experienced Master Model Builders, these sessions encourage problem-solving and teamwork, focussing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills. There are also holiday events such as ‘Brick or Treat’ and ‘Christmas Brick-tacular’, to name a few!

Ready to stop LEGO-ing and eat some food? Not yet. But when you are, there’s a cafe in the centre with tasty snacks and lunch options, as well as hot and cold drinks. There’s also a shop across the square selling all things Lego — the biggest LEGO shop in the North-West. Grab a souvenir, or maybe something bigger if you’re feeling lucky.

LEGOLAND is aimed at children aged 3-12 years old, but, and there is a great big ‘but’, there’s also Adult Lego Nights at the Discovery Centre, purely for adults – completely kid-free…
