Good Life Skates at Freight Island

good life skates

A new generation of skaters has evolved to discover a rekindled love of roller based dancing, moving and falling. Good Life Skates are creating a space throughout the summer, where you can enjoy this fast paced pastime alongside excellent tunes, delicious food and artisanal drinks at Freight Island.

You’ll be singing along to feel good bangers while busting out your best roller moves

Thursdays begin with ‘The Greatest Skate’. This inclusive skate session is a space where everyone can feel safe while speeding across the mezzanine. Fridays are all about hip-hop and RnB with a night called ‘Roll With It’. Whether you book as a group or just head down by yourself with some killer moves, you can be sure to find big tunes and access to skates for hire.

Alongside the regular line up you can expect to see guest DJ’s and special themed weekends. If you’re lucky you’ll also catch special DJ slots where the booth will be in the middle of the rink, so DJ and skaters can jam along with each other.

You can find the 8000 square foot roller rink on the mezzanine level of Escape to Freight island. It’s open to all ages and can be booked for larger groups and parties through the Good Life Skates website. You can hire skates and protective equipment at the rink, but skaters are also more than welcome to bring their own.

Outside of Skating, Freight Island has a jam packed summer of themed events, activities, performances and excellent food and drinks to keep you thoroughly entertained in the warm weather. Check out the venue’s website for further details.
