Fairfield Social Club is hosting not one but two New Year’s Eve events this year: a Bottomless Board Game Brunch and a Beer Bash. Go for one, go for both, go for broke — it’s New Year’s Eve after all.

For the Bottomless Board Game Brunch the team are working with Manchester’s own Dungeons & Flagons, an independent tabletop gaming events company who are passionate about introducing board gaming to as many people as possible at their fun, friendly and interactive events. You’ll have access to a whopping 200+ board games (imagine picking Monopoly) as well as 90 minutes of bottomless drinks including fizz, mimosas, house pints or non alcoholic alternatives. This bit runs from 1pm-5pm.

Over in the Club Space, meanwhile, you’ll find the Beer Bash, which — you guessed it — is all about celebrating exceptional craft beer. There are two sessions to choose from, the first from 11am-4pm, the second from 5-10pm. For the occasion, the Club space will be transformed into a giant New Year’s Eve bierkeller, featuring a curated selection of unique, limited-edition brews from some of the best craft breweries from near and far. There’ll be 25 beers for you to try, so godspeed.

What might come in handy in that regard is that at both events, you can pick up delicious street food courtesy of the FSC Garden Kitchen, including freshly made gyros, fries and Mediterranean snacks. Oh and the Bottomless Board Game Brunch is dog-friendly, too, so feel free to bring your furry friends along. I suppose if you do end up playing Monopoly, you know which playing piece to choose…

Fairfield Social Club comes from the brains behind one of our favourite Manchester destinations, GRUB, and has helped to inject new life into Manchester’s fast-growing Green Quarter.

Part of Victoria North, the biggest urban regeneration scheme in Manchester’s history, Fairfield Social Club is a bar, restaurant and event space that serves beer brewed less than 100 yards away at Black Jack Brewing as well as Mediterranean food cooked by the FSC Garden Kitchen.

Often you’ll find interesting pop-ups here, from vintage fairs to night markets, art battles to gigs, all showcasing local and independent makers and creators. A big tick from us. The space is even open for bookings for weddings, private parties and supper clubs, but naturally the calendar gets booked up pretty far in advance, so book well ahead if you want to hire the space.
