crash Records

Like a shining Yellow beacon in the centre of Leeds, Crash is a veteran of the city’s music scene. Having been the provider of tickets, vinyl and CD’s for over 30 years, its central location on the Headrow puts the shop in prime position to be in the know. Although the interior is fairly snug, is doesn’t seem to limit the depth of music crash are able to stock.

As a shop that specialises in indie, alternative, rock, punk and metal Crash has a well oiled link between the labels and artists working across those genres. No matter how niche your taste, the team at Crash can usually get their hands on whatever you’re looking for.

As well as stocking music from far and wide Crash also dedicate a corner to local stock, making use of a city with ample talent. Leeds has a vibrant music scene that functions from the grass roots up, with independent labels and genre bending artists. There is a gloriously diverse range of talent coming from the city, you can expect high turnover and wide variety from the local section in the shop.

When it comes to taking the music off the record and onto the stage, Crash are a go to for gig enthusiasts. They have been a ticket agent for all the major venues in Leeds for decades and continue to evolve with people’s tastes. If there is a gig happening in the city that Crash don’t have tickets for, then it’s probably not worth going to.

The intimate shop floor at crash occasionally hosts live acts. These can be shows from touring bands doing more intimate sets, or local acts who are on the verge of breakthrough. Whatever the band, there’s something about the energy in this compact shop that makes the event seem more significant than ‘just another gig’.

Check out their well curated collection and upcoming shows on the website.
