COFFI
Maja Lorkowska, Exhibitions EditorIf you’re serious about coffee, then look no further – put COFFI at the top of your list of places to visit while in Liverpool.
Located on a pebbled street in the historic Georgian Quarter, in a Grade II-listed coach house, COFFI is a fairly new addition to Liverpool’s café scene, having opened in late 2021. Then again, COFFI isn’t your average coffee shop – if you usual order is a ‘decaf, half sweet, non-fat caramel macchiato’ you might struggle to find it there because COFFI is known for offering what can only be described as proper coffee.
The interior epitomises minimalism in every way, with whitewashed brick walls and simple tables and chairs: a long table and bench downstairs and more seating up a narrow staircase. If you’re new to the world of speciality coffee, then ask away – the staff will tell you all you need to know. There are lots of sweet treats to choose from as well, which pair particularly well with a cup of black coffee.
As well as serving mind-blowing pourovers, COFFI sell beans from roasteries around the world, with the selection changing every two to three weeks.
Once you’ve had your caffeine fix and feel like sightseeing, you can head to the Anglican Cathedral, or the Metropolitan Cathedral, just up the road. St Luke’s Bombed Out Church is nearby too, which is often used as an events venue and is generally a quirky spot to check out.
