Aerial Arts might not be the first thing you think of when looking for a new fitness outlet. Cloud Aerial is changing that by helping one more person get upside down at a time. Based in two great locations near Piccadilly and the Northern Quarter, they have a wide range of classes that give you tons of opportunities to play with gravity.

Some of the more circus focused beginners classes include silks, aerial hoop and trapeze. The first of these involves two long strips of fabric that you climb, wrap and drop into, creating beautiful aerial art through strength and flexibility. The hoop is a rewarding experience. From your very first lesson, you’ll learn to get into the hoop before mastering tricks and transitions that turn into creative and fluid sequences. Finally why not the try classic circus endeavour, the trapeze, it is one of the original aerial arts dating back centuries. At Cloud you can start a bit closer to the ground on a static hanging trapeze, learning the foundations before progressing to the more impressive circus tricks.

For something more ground based, we recommend trying their pole fitness classes. Still one of the most popular classes they offer, pole fitness is a fun way to build strength and flexibility whilst learning new tricks and challenging yourself. You can also do yoga at the centre, both ground based and in the air. Use the familiar practise to help build strength or try something different with aerial yoga. All the different classes feed into each other letting you build up a skill set to fully embrace the postures, upside downs, flips, falls and spins that make Aerial Arts so addictively fun.
