The Cliffs Hotel is one of Blackpool’s oldest hotels and towers proudly, as its name suggests, at the top of the town’s cliffs. Found on the town’s quieter north coast, it occupies one of the historic seaside resort’s finest buildings: a picturesque Baroque-style red brick and terracotta mansion that dates all the way back to 1921.

Originally known as the Bryn Tivy, the hotel was significantly expanded by Architect Halstead Best in the 1930s and at one point boasted as many as 240 rooms. A home-from-home to countless holidaymakers for over a century, today it houses 163 comfortable en-suite bedrooms overlooking Blackpool’s promenade and the beach, as well as the famous Illuminations.

A brilliant choice for families seeking a fun, welcoming retreat during their seaside getaway, the hotel’s tastefully-decorated bedrooms include a range of spacious family rooms sleeping up to six, as well as standard, doubles, twins, and some impressive junior suites with stunning views of the Irish Sea.

Guests here will enjoy a memorable stay with plenty of family-friendly entertainment on offer seven days a week. The hotel hosts a packed schedule of cabaret shows, with live music, comedy and themed events every night, and also has its own supervised kids club which is free to hotel guests.

Facilities at The Cliffs hotel include a heated indoor swimming pool, gym and sauna, a sea view cafe-bar, a soft-play for toddlers, and a teenage-friendly arcade room decked out with PlayStation and XBox consoles, a full size pool table, charging stations and 42” plasma TVs. Its Rocky Gardens kids club, meanwhile, offers a host of fun activities to keep youngsters busy, ranging from glitter painting and parachute games, to bowling competitions, treasure hunts, bingo, obstacle courses and movie time.

The hotel is known for its friendly and accommodating staff, who go out of their way to ensure families feel at home. Its proximity to local attractions – such as the beach, amusement parks, and the famous Blackpool Tower – makes it the perfect choice for those wanting to access a wide range of activities without straying far from their doorstep.
