Chorlton Bookshop

Creative Tourist
Chorlton Bookshop

This family-run bookshop has been in Chorlton for over 30 years. Small but perfectly formed, you will find all your contemporary fiction and non-fiction fixes along with a choice of classics and a magical children’s section. There’s a gift-wrapping service, a few knick-knacks and they’ll even let you bring your dog in.

The shop has a commendable attitude towards sustainability. They recycle all cardboard and paper, use biodegradable cellophane where possible in their greeting cards. They also use beautifully designed cotton tote bags rather than plastic bags at the tills.

If you’re buying a present for someone and not sure what they’re into, you can purchase book tokens, allowing your loved ones to peruse the shelves themselves. If you’re part of a reading group, you can order in bulk and receive a 20% discount. NHS employees also get a 10% discount if you show your ID card at the till.

For Christmas present purchasing, Chorlton Bookshop releases an annual Christmas catalogue to help you make those difficult choices. Their knowledgeable staff contribute to make well informed recommendations and shout about which books they’re looking forward to getting their teeth into in the new year.
