Black Lodge Brewery

Well-loved micro-brewery Black Lodge has a taproom on Kings Dock Street in the Baltic Triangle, where it serves the brewery’s latest beers on keg and cask. Nestled in a car park (sounds weird, but actually works perfectly fine) away from the busy main roads of the city, Black Lodge is a firm favourite with Liverpool crowds serving the ultimate niche pints. You can sit inside surrounded by the signature black walls, which actually make it pretty cosy, or in the outside courtyard if the weather allows.

Black Lodge treat brewing very seriously, experimenting and trailing new techniques and flavours until it’s just right. They’ve previously collaborated with local and national companies too, which is a testament to their high quality brews.

Feeling hungry? You’ll find a resident food trader, Fatback Burgers, smashing burgers and loading up the fries when the taproom is open, four days a week.

A little bonus for vinyl lovers too – Black Lodge is next door to Matsuri Records, a rcord store specialising in international and world music, forgotten gems and reissues.

The taproom also hosts regular events, from live music to to brunch and beer festivals. You can also book a beer tasting with a member of staff to talk you through what you’re sampling, so check out their website for more details.
