Belgrave Music Hall
Chris HorkanRecently restored to its former glory, this building first opened in 1934 as a recreation hall and nursery school, and is now Belgrave Music Hall, a popular music venue and canteen.
With the three-storey building boasting two bars, two kitchens and an impressive roof terrace, Belgrave’s 300-capacity event space plays host to comedy, film screenings and exhibitions – but its music programming is its key strength. On any given month, you can expect to catch the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Broken Social Scene and A Certain Ratio – plus plenty of rising stars.
Its location, in the city centre’s Northern Quarter, places it among larger neighbouring venues like Leeds Grand Theatre and the Arena.
