Beach House Bistro & Bar

Positioned right on the Promenade, not far from Blackpool Tower, you’ll find Beach House Bistro & Bar, a modern Mediterranean-style restaurant set up for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Whether you’re looking for freshly-shucked oysters and whole live Whitby Bay lobsters, or you fancy sipping on some expertly-made cocktails whilst picking at a Mediterranean sharing platter, Beach House Bar & Bistro is a great all-round choice.

The location is an obvious selling point here. The bar and restaurant is set right in the heart of the action, with gorgeous views out over the Irish Sea, making this the perfect spot for watching the sunset with a cool cocktail in your hand or enjoying a family meal together. The modern, glass fronted building makes the most of the site with a large terrace to the side for al-fresco dining, while retractable roofs at the front open things up further, elements permitting.

So what about the food? As mentioned, there’s a Mediterranean feel here with pizzas and pastas joined by an expected, but welcome, emphasis on seafood. Indeed, seafood pappardelle elle joins freshly caught galician steamed mussels, calamari and king prawns with crushed vine tomatoes, spinach and garlic. There’s always a catch of the day to enjoy, too, plus the ever-reliable fish and chips – likely to prove a favourite with any little ones that find themselves missing a children’s menu. Meat lovers can choose from the likes of 28-day aged fillet steak, prime Iberico pork with ‘nduja ragu  or a hearty chicken and chorizo wrap, while vegetarians can enjoy juicy baked aubergine, wild mushroom pappardelle or a caponata diego tacos.

As for drinks, to accompany your meal you can order from the regular bar menu, or an extensive list of wine and champagne. We think that a cocktail is the better option here though, and a selection of classic serves are joined by Beach House signature concoctions. Pick from the refreshing tequila-based Passionfruit Paloma, a cooling coconut and basil mojito, or an eye-catching Strawberry Negroni. Non-drinkers don’t have to miss out either — a range of virgin mixes are available from the mocktail menu.

What sets Beach House Bar and Bistro apart further is its emphasis on live entertainment. A carefully curated schedule of resident DJs, singers and live acts provide diners with Sunday afternoon acoustic sessions, Friday party anthems, soulful house music on Saturday nights and chillout electronica to end the week. Look out for scheduled special events that kick the beach party vibe up a notch.
