Archive Leeds

Archive Leeds is a brand-new coffee house, eatery, bar and event space situated on Kirkstall Road in Leeds. It is the site of the former TV archive, hence the name and based at the heart of Prime Studios, ITV, where shows such as Emmerdale are filmed.

It makes a great place for coffee, brunch, Sunday breakfast or for a quick lunch during your working day. The venue is only small but has lovely modern décor and is the perfect spot to unwind and even do a bit of celeb spotting. It is far enough out from the bustling centre of Leeds but close enough you can visit on your lunch break or for a break from shopping.

Archive serves up locally sourced produce and quality ingredients which really shine in their dishes. And you can wash this down with the finest coffee, juices, beers and wines.

Archive Leeds

We visited on a lovely sunny Sunday morning and I couldn’t wait for a plate full of delicious English breakfast. On Sundays, they do a Full English, which consists of spicy homemade beans. This is a mix of cannellini beans, butter beans and more in a spicy ragu sauce. These are better than your average baked beans, adding something special to the dish, along with the sautéed garlic wild mushrooms.

If you love how streaky and crispy American bacon is then a trip to Archive is a must

The spicy beans and wild mushrooms come piled on to a large, thick slice of sourdough bread, with a black pepper sausage, crispy bacon and an egg cooked to your liking. I choose poached, which arrives cooked perfectly, yolk oozing onto the other ingredients in a dish. Every mouthful is packed full of flavour – it was sensational.

If you love how streaky and crispy American bacon is and, like myself, struggle to find anything as good in the UK then a trip to Archive is a must. I’ll be rushing back just for a plate of it. They also offer great freshly made sandwiches, an award-winning pork pie, mash and mushy pies, priced at only £4.50 and great vegetarian and vegan options.

Archive Leeds offers something for everyone, so head down for a tasty brunch or hearty bowl of mac and cheese in the sun over the coming months.
