From otherworldly creatures to outdoor sculpture trails, there are lots of exciting events happening in and around Wakefield this summer.

Don’t miss The Hatchling when it appears on the streets, before taking off and flying away into the night.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park invites everyone to visit its incredible collection of outdoor art and join in the exciting programme of summer events. From building dens to creating your own artwork inspired by the pieces on display, families and friends will love visiting the park’s gorgeous grounds. Don’t miss the current exhibitions too: Bharti Kher: Alchemies at the Underground Gallery and outdoors; Leilah Babirye: Obumu (Unity) at the Chapel; and Elisabeth Frink: Natural Connection at The Weston Gallery and outdoors.

The Hepworth Wakefield has prepared an equally exciting schedule of activities. Explore the exhibitions and garden through sessions in the galleries and outdoors, join a Family Workshop and create your own artwork in the Art Pod. The gallery’s current exhibitions: Igshaan Adams: Weehoud; Ronald Moody: Sculpting Life; and Sylvia Snowden: Painting Humanity are sure to inspire younger minds and seasoned art lovers.
