Wilhelm Tell stands unwavering against tyranny and is famously known for his astonishing feat of shooting an apple off his child’s head with a crossbow, but he’s in a sticky situation and it’s up to his daughter to save him. Will Tell and the Big Bad Baron at The Lowry is taking place for one day only on Sunday 22 October and is sure to be a very special half-term treat for families.

Prepare for a delightful, vibrant adventure that has the whole audience laughing and smiling. Embark on exciting escapades amidst castles, meet damsels in distress and watch a breathtaking joust featuring magnificent horse puppets, all intertwined with captivating storytelling and catchy, original tunes.

The story follows our courageous heroine, Will, who disguises herself as a knight and embarks on a daring journey atop her trusty donkey, Rosina. Her mission: to rescue her folk hero father, Wilhelm Tell, from the depths of the sinister Baron Boris’s darkest dungeon.

Inspired by her father’s heroic exploits and tales of renowned legends like Robin Hood and Sir Lancelot, Will understands the art of defying baddies! But nothing can prepare her for the unexpected twist, when Baron Boris’s daughter, Edel, falls head over heels in love with her and yearns to be rescued as well. Armed with nothing but pots and pans for armour and a humble farm donkey as her steed, can Will save Edel, and conquer the mean and nasty Baron?

Set to capture the hearts of youngsters and adults alike, Will Tell and the Big Bad Baron at The Lowry is recommended for children aged 3 years and older. Don’t miss out on this fantastic production!
