Spread your wings and keep your eyes to the sky as you explore the wonderful world of birds at Wild About Birds at Manchester Museum this February half-term. Enjoy a week of bird-themed fun, packed with free, family-friendly activities.

The week kicks off with the Bird Rave on 15 February, running 11am – 4pm. Everyone (Mum, Dad, Granny included) is welcome to the dance floor, which will feature a classic rave soundtrack alongside performances of ‘dance floor ornithology’ from talented Bird Rave artists. During the day you’ll also get a chance to participate in different kinds of workshops, from art and creativity to rave dance workshops! Dancing will be encouraged so we do recommend wearing clothes you love to dance in!

Throughout the week, the fun doesn’t stop, with a special bird-spotting trail taking place around the museum and arts and crafts workshops where you’ll get a chance to make your own paper birds to take home. There will also be several opportunities to meet the awesome, knowledgeable team from the RSPB, who will be on hand on the dates of 15, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 23 February to share fascinating facts about our favourite feathered friends and to facilitate a number of fun activities.

Whether you’re a budding birdwatcher or simply looking to spend time together as a family, Wild About Birds at Manchester Museum is a great option for a day out. It’s free, so great if you’re watching your pennies, it’s educational, a little bit different, and has something for everyone to enjoy.
