Thursday Lates: Isaac Julien's Ten Thousand Waves at The Whitworth, Manchester 7 June 2018 Entrance is free — Visit now

The June outing of The Whitworth’s ongoing Thursday Lates series features Jah Wobble and the Chinese Dub Orchestra performing a live score to Isaac Julien’s work Ten Thousand Waves.

The cinematic three-screen installation takes inspiration from the Morecambe Bay tragedy of 2004, in which 23 Chinese cockle-pickers drowned off the North West coast. Exploring experiences of desire, loss and separation, the piece is on show at The Whitworth until 28 August.

This one-off performance (at 7pm) will be preceded (from 6.15pm) be a conversation between the gallery’s director Alistair Hudson and filmmaker and installation artist Isaac Julien.

This event is free but advanced registration is recommended – click ‘Find out more’ below. Latecomers may not be admitted.
