If you’re looking for a traditional pantomime, Oldham Coliseum is where you should be heading.

This year, festive theatre-goers can join Robin Hood and a whole host of colourful characters on an arrow-shooting, thigh-slapping adventure of a lifetime.

Set in Sherwood Forest (by way of Oldham, of course), the production is a super blend of two different stories – the legend of Robin Hood and the classic fairytale Babes in the Wood. In addition to terrorising everyone with expensive taxes, the nasty sheriff wants Robin Hood out of the picture as she plans to kidnap the ‘Babes’ and claim their fortune. Packed with the perfect blend of slapstick, silliness, toe-tapping songs and panto magic, will Robin Hood be able to save the day?

Written by Fine Time Fontayne and the Coliseum’s Artistic Director Chris Lawson, we’re huge fans of Oldham’s pantomime because of its witty script providing genuine laughs for both children and grown-ups. We also love that the theatre’s auditorium is the perfect size for everyone to feel part of the action – there are so many opportunities for young theatre-goers to shout out, sing along and join in with the mayhem on stage.

Blending tradition with a good dose of pop culture, the Coliseum’s pantomime has been delighting audiences for generations. True to form, Robin Hood certainly hits the target this Christmas – a seasonal festive treat for the whole family.
