RNCM Symphony Orchestra at The Bridgewater Hall
Chris HorkanStepping out from its home, the RNCM Symphony Orchestra visits The Bridgewater Hall for its annual end-of-year concert this June.
Under the baton of French conductor and violinist Yan Pascal Tortelier, the orchestra will tackle Ravel’s timeless Daphnis et Chloé. A tale of love between young shepherd Daphnis and his sweetheart Chloé, who is abducted by pirates, this opulent drama ends with the lovers’ blissful reunion.
The concert’s programme also features Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto, performed by RNCM Concerto Competition winner Waynne Kwon, plus Ambroise Thomas’ 1866-penned Mignon Overture.
