Rent at Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester 30 October — 6 December 2020 Tickets from £20.00 — Book now

When Hope Mill Theatre released tickets for a live run of the classic rock musical Rent, only the quickest folk managed to get tickets. The hotly anticipated show managed to sell-out in a super-speedy 48 hours. Now, despite the show having its run cut short due to the national lockdown, you can still enjoy the electrifying production at home.

The theatre has announced that they have released a limited number of tickets to watch the show online. The production, which has been pre-recorded and edited, will be available for audiences to watch digitally during the run.

Directed by Luke Sheppard, this special revival of the much-loved musical features exceptional musical theatre performers, amongst them West End favourites, Olivier nominees and 2020 graduates.

Based loosely on Puccini’s La Boheme, Rent tells the story of a gang of impoverished young artists who struggle to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan, under the shadow of HIV/AIDs.

Featuring the numbers ‘La Vie La Bohème’, ‘Without You’ and the iconic ‘Seasons of Love’, Rent is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson. The show premiered off-Broadway in 1996 before moving to Broadway later the same year. The show has been staged all over the world, including the West End in 1998, which was shortly followed by a film version in 2005.
