Music and sound has always played an integral part in the oeuvre of artist and filmmaker David Lynch. From his imposing industrial soundscapes, to his lush orchestral collaborations with composer Angelo Badalamenti, to his slyly subversive use of old pop standards, sound is utterly vital to his practice.

With that in mind, OST Presents have lined up the alt-folk acoustica and lo-fi electronica of Granfalloon (AKA Richard Lomax) and his collaborators Dom Major + Chloe Jones for a special set of songs plucked from Lynch’s work. Scheduled at The Yard for Friday 29 October — the start of Halloween weekend — the performers will play in front of projections of Lynch’s early short films.

Following the music, audiences are invited to stay for a big screen showing of Lynch’s debut feature Eraserhead. An experience in itself, this experimental horror film hums with a quiet menace, with anxiety inducing sound design paired with lo-fi black and white cinematography as Jack Nance’s lead cares for his deformed offspring.
