Open house at PHM!
Sara Jaspan, Exhibitions EditorAs part of a whole weekend of activities celebrating its 10th birthday, People’s History Museum (PHM) in Manchester is holding a bumper day of free activities based around its national collections.
The varied programme has something for all. Highlights include the chance to explore unusual items held in the museum’s extensive archives and take a behind the scenes tour of its Conservation Studio – the only one of its kind in Britain, dedicated to the preservation of banners. There’ll also be opportunities to handle some of the rare objects acquired by the museum over the last 10 years that are not on public display.
Alongside this, enjoy a series of craft activities for all ages, and Living History performances. Interactive story sessions will appeal to kids under five, and live music will provide a perfect soundtrack to the day. Drop in and take part.
