Carmel Smickersgill, Tours & Activities EditorJoin Kayleigh Davis at the Left Bank in Leeds for a summer course in natural dyeing. Over ten, two hour sessions, held on Wednesday evenings you’ll learn all there is to know about natural dyeing techniques as well as getting hands on with foraging for your plant based dye components. Create some totally unique textiles with print creating, Batik (wax based) techniques and up cycling old clothing. At the end of the course you can expect to walk away with the skills to carry on creating at home using ingredients which can be found in your garden or fridge.
Kayleigh Davis a Yorkshire based textile artist, and workshop facilitator specialising in naturally dyed silks.
There are options to book individual sessions or the whole ten weeks depending on your specific interests. The sessions run in conjunction with the Left Bank’s Community Vegetable Garden project and the cafe will be open all the sessions serving refreshments.
