Mothers Day is a great excuse to spend some quality time with your Mum. What better way to do this than working on a new skill together. Caron Naylor will be encouraging people to do just this in her two hour calligraphy workshop. This mindful practice is all about creating beautiful writing with care and precision, making for a relaxing and very enjoyable way to spend a morning.

In the session you’ll cover the basic strokes and techniques giving you a firm base from which to build your calligraphy repertoire. You’ll understand how to form each letter as well as developing your own individual style. Once you’ve got to grips with the pen the rest of the session will be spent making your own creative ideas for mothers day cards, invites and more. All the equipment is provided and you’ll also be given a gift bag of calligraphy essentials to take home and continue writing with.

After the class there’ll be a sandwich lunch where you can put the pens down and just socialise with the other calligraphers. After the course, there are plenty of walking spots around Harewood House if you’re wanting to make a day of it.

It’s advised to avoid wearing much loved clothing as you will be working with inks. Full arrival details for workshop participants will be sent out nearer the time.
