‘El Alma de Madrid’ or the soul of Madrid, at Manchester’s The Oast House
An integral piece of both Madrid and Manchester’s identity is street art. As part of Madrí Excepcional’s wider Manchester city takeover, in the lead-up to the event stunning murals will be unveiled from one of Madrid’s best street artists, Sokram, and leading Mancunian artist, Qubek. Each artist will bring to life the soul of their city, depicting the art, food and sounds found on the streets of their respective hometowns. The public can see the murals from 27 April on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter. As the sun goes down, event-goers will be treated to an innovative and captivating projection mapping display, featuring both the murals, which will bring to life stories behind the artworks.
The striking new murals and Madrí Excepcional x The Oast House form part of the beer brand’s wider takeover of Manchester, which also includes a ‘Door Roja’ (red door) which will be popping up in Exchange Square, alongside Madrí Excepcional branding appearing on the streets in the weeks leading up to the May Bank Holiday weekend.
