Lucie McKnight Hardy and Andrew Michael Hurley at Blackwell’s
Sarah-Clare Conlon, Literature EditorThe Blackwell’s Manchester programme is back in full swing for the start of the academic year, with plenty of events (see the bookshop’s own website for a full line-up), including this special pre-All Hallows evening of folk horror.
Water Shall Refuse Them author Lucie McKnight Hardy will be talking about and reading from her debut, out on Northern Fiction Alliance indie press Dead Ink Books, and Costa Award-winner Andrew Michael Hurley will be giving audiences a peek at his third novel, Starve Acre, about spooky goings-on in deepest darkest Lancashire. They’ll be talking to author and John Rylands Library Writer-in-Residence Rosie Garland, herself not a stranger to a bit of gothic-inspired writing.
