Kevin Linnane: Walk Workshop at The Courthouse, Altrincham
Sara Jaspan, Exhibitions EditorPsychogeography is a term used to describe the effect of a geographical location on the emotions and behaviour of individuals, encouraging playful and inventive ways of navigating the urban environment as a way of exploring its architecture and spaces. You may be familiar with it from the writings of Will Self (or Guy Debord).
In this vein, artist Kevin Linnane invites you to encounter Altrincham anew by joining him on a psychogeographical journey through the town, gathering film and audio recordings along the way, to form a visual document of the experience. Focused around the places people are drawn to and the activities that take place there, the afternoon promises to be rife with chance happenings and unexpected narratives.
