Jazz at the Whiskey Jar at The Whiskey Jar, Manchester 20 May — 26 August 2019 Tickets from £5 — Book now

NQ Jazz at the Whiskey Jar is probably one of the best value for money musical nights in Manchester. The calibre of performers it attracts from all over Europe is astonishing. Happening every Monday (with occasional extra dates) within the intimate surrounds of The Whiskey Jar’s basement, you will find yourself entangled in the performers as they bring virtuosic playing within metres of your ears.

This is the night where you get your die hard Jazz fans listening attentively. Expect a mixture of new music and subtle nods to the Jazz tradition. Each gig is programmed and run by saxophonists Emily Burkhardt and Kyran Matthews, and with highlights such as the Ivo Neame Quartet as well as Rob Luft and Alice Zawadzki, NQ jazz gives you a chance to catch bigger names in a cosier space.
