International Women’s Day celebration at People’s History Museum
Creative TouristJoin the People’s History Museum for an exciting day of activities, talks and protest songs celebrating International Women’s Day.
On 12 March at 12pm and 1pm, the Museum will be hosting Radical Women tours, which will highlight the objects in its main galleries which bring to life the achievements of powerful females through history. Think reformists, Chartists, suffragists, suffragettes, MPs, radicals and revolutionaries who have campaigned for equality over the past 200 years.
There’ll also be music from LGBTQI disabled activist Mx Dennis Queen, whose protest songs focus on everything from disabled people’s rights to gender equality.
The event has been curated in partnership with the PHM’s Nothing About Us Without Us Steering Group, who are helping to shape the museum’s Nothing About Us Without Us exhibition and 2022 programme, which will explore disabled people’s rights, activism and fight for inclusion.
While you’re visiting the museum, be sure to take a journey through the history of rights and equality via the dazzling collection of banners in its Banner Exhibition 2022.
