Be transported to 19th-century America when Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre stages The Gangs of New York this summer. This fierce exploration of love, betrayal and power is happening as part of the venue’s thrilling open air season of performance.

John Morrissey, an ambitious Irish immigrant, climbs the treacherous ladder of the American dream, clashing with American gangster Bill Poole in a dangerous power struggle. Meanwhile, amidst the lawless chaos, two star-crossed lovers defy their feuding families to find solace in each other’s arms.

With a pulse-pounding original soundtrack, this electrifying new adaptation by Kieran Lynn promises a theatre experience like no other.

Established in 2010, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre is one of the UK’s best-loved open-air theatres and regularly plays to sold-out audiences across the summer. The theatre is produced by Storyhouse, Chester’s award-winning cultural centre.
