As spring arrives, nesting birds return, and what better way to welcome them than by creating a home for them? This half term enjoy a family-friendly workshop at Heaton Park on 18 February, in celebration of National Nestbox Week which runs from 14-21 February.

The workshop is a chance to do something a bit different and get creative with your family, while providing safe nesting spots for our feathered friends.

In this free session, you’ll build and decorate your very own nest box, with guidance from the Heaton Park team. They’ll also be sharing expert tips on how to attract birds to your garden and support local wildlife.

Spaces are limited – nest box materials will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but don’t worry, if you miss out there are plenty of other fun bird-themed crafts to enjoy.

Once your nest box is ready, you can take it home to hang in your garden or donate it to Heaton Park, where it will provide a safe haven for local birds. The National Nestbox Week Family Friendly Workshop is a simple yet meaningful way to connect with nature and make a positive impact on the world around us.
